Brush and floss daily

Brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day. This is very important to keep a healthy smile. Brushing twice a day and flossing daily will help you to keep the germs out from between your teeth. Without those germs, your teeth will be less prone to cavities and gum diseases. 

Eat enamel-friendly foods

Eat foods that are low in acidity and high in calcium. Some foods will rot your teeth faster than others. Foods that do this include high acidity foods like pineapples and oranges, and anything too high in sugar. Instead, try to eat more foods that boost calcium, such as yogurt, fish, leafy greens, and anything with dairy. Opt for teas and coffees that are unsweetened, and rinse your mouth after you drink them to avoid staining them. 

Upgrade your brush

Choose a high-quality toothbrush, and replace it every three months. A high-quality electric toothbrush is the best way to remove plaque and to stimulate the gums. If you brush your teeth hard, then you should choose a brush with soft bristles. Give up smoking. If you smoke, quitting is the best way to improve your smile and your overall oral health drastically. Smoking can stain your teeth and will soak deep into your tooth enamel. Smoking also affects the gums. It can cause them to recede and develop large pockets around your teeth. If this happens, it can make it very difficult to reverse gum disease.

See a dentist regularly

Never miss a dentist’s appointment. You should see your dentist at least once, if not twice, a year for a general checkup. By seeing your dentist regularly, you can keep on top of any potential problems. Your dentist will be able to spot the early signs of developing issues before they become bigger problems. They can also give you a deep clean to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Make an appointment, and keep it.
